Nodo - drawing on paper, by María Emilia Marroquín, 2021

Through the materiality of drawing and the vibrations of line and color, the work explores a profoundly modified and mutating Global Habitat space. The line is action on paper and also organic plot.

We are perplexed at a “time” where the community dimension of societies with their health, labor, and cultural systems and, on an abstract level, the forms of digital connection and narratives, constantly alter and generate other scenes.

Evidence of old monsters appears in the scenario marked by the COVID 19 Pandemic: Threatened environmental biodiversity: The predatory advance through the intensification of forest fires and the destruction of native species.

Vulnerability, risk and estrangement are sensations that mark humans evolution at this juncture.

"Nodo" is the representation of the relational game of all these spaces, but it is also a point of origin, a symbol of the movement of plant sap, a point of resistance and constant renewal.
